The power of film is and can be forevermore empowering on the way we live our lives. As I was sitting on a flight, perpetually inundated with copious amounts of work the film Invictus came on. I usually ignore films on domestic flights because they are generally very tedious and cater for a younger crowd but this film caught me off guard. Having been drawn in by Morgan Freeman, to which I have an insatiable soft spot for, I found this film very deep and inspiring. Directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, this film explores racial injustice, and its struggle for equality through the election of Nelson Mandela. It shows Mandela’s wish of bringing black and white people together through the South African national sport, rugby. It is emotionally draining, and the cinematography brought a tear to my eye but it is historically fascinating.
can not believe i still haven't seen this. have you watched district 9 yet? an amazing south african film...
ReplyDeleteI tried to watch it not too long ago, I thought it was brilliantly shot, but the plot a little lacking!
